چکیده

Intelligent Scheduling is a system-oriented book on scheduling systems. Each chapter describes a scheduling system in terms of the particular scheduling problems being addressed, design assumptions, and the overall paradigm being used. The book is divided into two sections: (1) scheduling methodologies and (2) application case studies. The methodology chapters focus on research systems and scheduling techniques. The application chapters focus on fielded embedded scheduling systems and describe difficulties and lessons learned. As a guide to current methods in AI-based scheduling, the book is an excellent reference. Intelligent Scheduling provides an eminently readable guide to the predominant general approaches, including iterative repair techniques, dispatching methods, and constraint-based techniques. The chapters provide an excellent description of the overall approaches behind the scheduling systems and a good description of the target problem classes. The book is useful to a lesser degree to managers and practitioners with scheduling problems. Unfortunately, the chapters in Intelligent Scheduling rarely provide examples of the actual data-structure input to the systems described. This lack of examples is unfortunate because often, the best way for a practitioner to get a

Intelligent scheduling for emergency room(ER) personnel to improve productivity

Improving productivity in emergency services and managing limited resources of emergency room(ER) are key challenges for health managers of oil industry. One critical and costly resource is ER personnel  and its lack can lead to long queue of patients. Thus appropriate scheduling for nurses and physicians can help ER managers to  get maximum benefit of their current human resource and reduce th...

Mathematical Modeling for a Flexible Manufacturing Scheduling Problem in an Intelligent Transportation System

This paper presents a new mathematical model for a production system through a scheduling problem considering a material handling system as an intelligent transportation system by automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The traditional systems cannot respond to the changes and customer’s demands and for this reason, a flexible production system is used. Therefore, for this purpose, automated transpor...

Fuzzy gain scheduling of PID controller for stiction compensation in pneumatic control valve

Inherent nonlinearities like, deadband, stiction and hysteresis in control valves degenerate plant performance. Valve stiction standouts as a more widely recognized reason for poor execution in control loops. Measurement of valve stiction is essential to maintain scheduling. For industrial scenarios, loss of execution due to nonlinearity in control valves is an imperative issue that should be t...

Integration of process planning and scheduling - a review

In recent years, a few researchers have addressed the need for the integration of process planning and scheduling functions in order to achieve superior overall system performance. Many of these researchers have discovered that the potential savings are substantial when process planning and scheduling are integrated. It has been reported that typical scheduling objectives, such as minimizing ma...
